Sungkyunkwan University defeated Sangmyung University with a dominant performance from Kim Yoon-sung.
Sungkyunkwan University defeated Sangmyung University 67-46 in the 2023 KUSF University Basketball U-League on 26 November at the gymnasium of Sangmyung University’s Cheonan campus. With the win, Sungkyunkwan moved into a tie for fifth place with a 5-5 record, while Sangmyung remained in 11th place with a 1-8 record.

In a tense first quarter, Sungkyunkwan University took the lead after a three-point play by Kim Yoon-sung. Noh Wan-ju and Park Jong-ha then added to the lead as Sungkyunkwan extended their lead. With the momentum in their favour, Sungkyunkwan scored nine consecutive points in the middle of the quarter to quickly take a double-digit lead. The first quarter ended with Sungkyunkwan leading 22-13.
At the beginning of the second quarter, Sangmyung University tried to catch up with back-to-back three-pointers, but Sungkyunkwan University steadily maintained its lead after Kim Yoon-sung’s basket stopped the flow. Continuing to lead, Sungkyunkwan University scored eight straight points, including a free throw by Lee Hyun-ho at the end of the quarter, to end the half with a 40-26 lead.
The second half also followed the same pattern, with Sungkyunkwan escaping whenever Sangmyung University caught up. Trailing by nine points in the middle of the third quarter, Sungkyunkwan widened the gap again as Kim Yoon-sung controlled the floor perfectly.
After finishing the third quarter with a score of 54-35, Sungkyunkwan University continued its lead in the fourth quarter. After allowing their opponents to catch up with them by scoring just one point in the first five minutes of the fourth quarter, Sungkyunkwan regained the lead thanks to a fastbreak layup by Lee Hyun-ho, and went on to record the final 67-46 victory.
