Luke Shaw has been transformed into a ‘salesman’ for United.
England face North Macedonia at Old Trafford in Manchester on Tuesday (3:45 p.m. ET) in their Euro 2024 Group C fourth round match. The Three Lions, who are currently top of Group C after three consecutive wins, prepared for the match at United’s Carrington training ground.
Shaw was in full force as a scout for the Red Devils. There are quite a few players on the England squad that United could target. Harry Kane (Tottenham) and Declan Rice (West Ham) are the ‘two horsemen’.
Shaw took to social media to share a photo of himself with Kane and Rice, titled “Carrington Tour.” On the 19th, ahead of the match against North Macedonia, he said, “I don’t lie. Shaw added: “They are both world-class players who will improve our team enormously. They’ve been here for the last few days, and I hope they like United and can get used to it,” Shaw added.
However, it remains to be seen if Shaw’s hopes will be realized. United entered the race for Kane early on. They were said to be willing to pay £100 million.
But Tottenham are “holding firm. Kane is out of contract with Spurs next June. Chairman Daniel Levy is determined not to move him, whether he re-signs or not.
Rice is also likely to go to Arsenal rather than United. Having spent £60 million on Casemiro last summer, United are unlikely to spend another £100 million on a defensive midfielder.
