Left-handed pitcher Brooks Reilly (34), who was the ace of the Lotte Giants from 2015 to 2019, is having a great year with his new team, the New York Mets.
In the top of the eighth inning of a 4-2 home game against the Philadelphia Phillies of the 2023 Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series at Citi Field in New York City today (Feb. 2), Reilly pitched ⅔ innings of one-hit ball with two strikeouts and no walks.
The team won 4-2, and Reilly picked up his 13th hold of the season.

Railey had an up-and-down start to the season.
He came to the Mets from the Tampa Bay Rays in a trade last winter, and in March, he was named to Team USA’s roster for the 2023 World Baseball Classic (WBC), only to miss out due to injury concerns.
In April, he was placed on the 15-day disabled list (IL) with elbow inflammation.
However, he has been on a tear since his return on May 15 against the Washington Nationals.
He hasn’t allowed a single run in 7.2 innings over his last nine games.
His ERA, which was as high as 5.23 through April, has dipped into the low 2s.
At his current pace, he could even surpass his single-season best from last year (1-2 with a 2.68 ERA in 25 appearances and six saves).
Railey is a former KBO pitcher who went 48-53 with a 4.13 ERA in five seasons with Lotte.
He returned to the United States in 2020, signing with the Cincinnati Reds, and bounced around with the Houston Astros and Tampa Bay before landing with the Mets this season.
