“I’m sorry.”
FC Seoul head coach Ahn Ik-soo bowed his head after an unexpected draw in professional soccer.
Seoul drew 1-1 at home against Pohang Steelers in the 18th round of the K League 1 at Seoul World Cup Stadium on Nov. 11.
Seoul took the lead in the 37th minute through Hwang Eui-jo’s exhilarating right-footed curler, only to concede an equalizer just before the break through Pohang defender Ha Chang-rae.안전놀이터
Seoul had to settle for third place instead of the second-place finish that was on the line.
“I don’t have anything to say,” Ahn told reporters after the game. I’m sorry,” he sighed.
Ahn’s bitterness was evident in his answers to the questions that followed. When asked if he couldn’t believe that the team had lost such a close game, he replied, “We’ll do a review and find out what went wrong.”
Ahn’s frustration was such that he couldn’t even congratulate his favorite player, Hwang Ui-jo, on his first goal. “It’s something to celebrate,” he said, “but it’s a bit unfortunate (that he’s leaving). I’ll try to find the problem in the review,” he concluded.
