“If you come to the Masters Champions Dinner, you will have to sit alone at a table in the corner.” (Scottie Scheffler, 27, USA)

“Just call me. 스포츠토토 (Bubba Watson, 45, USA)

The US Professional Golf (PGA) tour group and the LIV golf group are already engaged in a war of nerves ahead of the Masters, a major tournament to be held in April. It is because the ‘territoriality’ of the PGA Tour group that dominated the Masters was exposed.

At a press conference ahead of the Asian Professional Golf Tour Saudi International on the 1st (Korean time), Watson of LIV Golf, which is run by Saudi Arabian capital, said, “If Schaeffler invites me to the Masters Champions Dinner, I will sit anywhere.” At the bony joke of ‘PGA Tour Remnant’ Scheffler, who disapproved of LIV golfers’ participation in the Masters, Watson responded with a laugh. When asked about the dinner anecdote, he said, “Wherever you sit is fine. I am satisfied just being there.”

Players who moved to LIV Golf are unable to compete in PGA Tour events. However, the Masters tournament hosted by Augusta National GC decided to open the door to LIV golf players as well.

The seat dispute between Schaeffler and Watson dates back to the end of last year. The two met by chance in Hawaii and talked about Masters and LIV golf. As last year’s Masters champion, Schaeffler will host the ‘Champions Dinner’ this year. He reportedly told Watson, “I’ll have a corner seat at the Champions Dinner.” Watson joined LIV Golf last year as a Masters winner in 2012 and 2014.
